You supervise 15 people in a company that has 500 employees. One of the people you supervise, Steve, asks to schedule a meeting with you. Steve comes to your office and tells you that he and other employees have been talking about your management style. He says that he, like others, is uncomfortable with some things that you do. He described times that you have belittled employees by yelling at them in front of others. He says that you are never satisfied with the quality of work being done; that you are constantly putting down his suggestions and suggestions from others; that you make people feel like they are cheating the company by taking a bathroom break, or worse you feel that people who leave immediately at 4:30 p.m. (closing time) are not really team players.
